The term ergomechanics displays the connection between seatergonomics and biomechanics. This interaction and influences in both directions is an important fact with respect to the development of driver seats. The human and its individual needs take the center stage in this field.


Ergomechanics

Back pain causes the highest direct and indirect costs in our health care system, even more than coronary heart disease. The motivation and driving force for the forum ERGOMECHANICS is to maintain the working, but sedentary, populus healthy. This dialogue and close collaboration connects the scientific disciplines with industry.

Through the interactive exchange of different disciplines, such as ergonomics, biomechanics and psychology, novel ideas are generated, enabling the development by industry of innovative products to preserve a healthy population.

The Ergomechanics Congress is a podium for displaying this transfer of knowledge: Every 4 years well-respected scientists present their latest findings on spine research. The respective presentations are published in a book.

Additionally the research foundation belongs to our philosophy of ergomechanics. The Grammer European Spine Journal Award will be given out annually which is the highest endowed award for spine research worldwide.
